Quarterly School Outreach: Empowering Teens and Youth Through Poetry and Storytelling

YemiPoet Afri-Creative Social Foundation (YACSO) is committed to empowering young people through the provision of platforms to express. Creativity is not just about
expression at YACSO. It is also about healing, power, and change.

Every quarter, outreach to different secondary schools across the nation takes place,
creating safe, vibrant spaces where teens and young people can learn, express,
heal from past traumas and contribute by bringing changes socially and
globally.

YACSO aims to:

      Introduce
poetry, storytelling, and spoken word as avenues for self-discovery,
creativity, and communication.

      Create
safe spaces where young people can speak out, share experiences, and begin to
heal in supportive and understanding environments.

      Train
participants, preparing them to use their voices to champion and contribute to
social and global change.

      Inspire
teens and youth to see themselves as leaders whose words and actions can drive
positive change within their communities and beyond.

Through interactive sessions, students are guided to unlock their creativity, discover
the beauty and structure of language, and use their stories as bridges to
attain healing from their hidden struggles and traumas.
